  DUCK SOUP OBJECTIVE OF DUCK SOUP:  Be the first player to earn 250 points NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  2 players NUMBER OF CARDS:  52 cards RANK OF CARDS:  Phase 1 (low) Ace – King (high), Phase 2 (low) 2 – Ace (high) TYPE OF GAME:  Trick taking AUDIENCE:  Adults INTRODUCTION OF DUCK SOUP Duck Soup is a two player trick taking game designed by David Parlett.  This game can be broken down into two phases.  The first of which is played with a starting hand of 13 cards and a draw pile.  The second phase begins as soon as the draw pile runs out of cards.  This phase is played with the remaining 13 cards in each player’s hand.  The Ace switches from being the lowest card to the highest in the second phase.  Scoring occurs after each phase, and the points earned are multiplied for a final total round score. THE CARDS & THE DEAL  Duck Soup uses a 52 card deck.  Shuffle and deal 13 cards to each player.  The rest of the deck forms a draw pile.  Remember, in the first phase, Aces are low.  In the

THE CARDS & THE DEAL  For a four player game, use a 52 card deck.  For each player past four, add one more suit’s worth of cards.  If there are an even amount of players, their should be an equal amount of red and black suits.  If there are an odd amount of players, their should be one more red suit than black suits.  For example, in a five player game, there are three red suits and two black suits.   THE CREW (FOR TWO) OBJECTIVE OF THE CREW:  Complete missions as a team by play cards to the trick NUMBER OF PLAYERS:  2 players TYPE OF GAME:  Trick taking, cooperative AUDIENCE:  Adults INTRODUCTION OF THE CREW The Crew is an award winning trick taking card game that is typically played with 3 or 4 players.  This game is incredibly popular and has seen its lion’s share of coverage by the gaming media.  This instruction set is going to focus on the seldom talked about 2 player rule variant for the game.  In the Crew, players work together to complete 50 missions.  Each mission has its own requirements, usually requiring players to complete a predetermined number of tasks.  In this game, communication is extremely limited, and players are not allowed to talk about their hand or discuss decisions. MATERIALS 40 PLAYING CARDS   The deck includes 36 color cards and 4 rocket cards.  There are five colored suits, and the rocket cards are the trump suit for the game. 5 REMINDER CARDS A playe
